Celebrate Teen Tech Week!
March 7 - 13
TTW

Teen Tech Week is a national initiative aimed at teens, librarians, educators and parents meant to encourage teens to take advantage of libraries' nonprint resources. The library is a place where teens can foster creativity in both a physical and virtual space for exploration of the many types of technology available, including DVDs, music, audiobooks, gaming, video production, and online homework help.

This week teens in grades 7-12 can:

  • Straw TowerCreate Your Own Movie - Each day, Monday - Friday, from 4-5:30 p.m. create your own movie using Windows Movie Maker on the laptops in the Wireless Lab. Bring your own memory stick to save your work.

  • Stage Combat - Monday, March 8 at 5 p.m. - Actors will demonstrate the fine art of slapping, falling, and fencing before your very eyes. Then you'll get the chance to act in some stunts yourself!

  • Build the Tallest Straw Tower Ever - Thursday, March 11 at 4 p.m. - Teams of two will try to build the tallest tower out of 50 drinking straws and one yard of masking tape. The winning team will receive Best Buy gift cards.
