The Wauconda Area Library, is located in western Lake County, just north of Barrington and Lake Zurich. The library district encompasses all or portions of Island Lake, Lakemoor, Lake Barrington, Port Barrington, Volo, Wauconda, and unincorporated Lake County.

Public Services Reference Associate I  (posted 4/15/15)

Seeking a detail-oriented, service-minded part-time Public Services Associate I with a focus on exceptional quality service and reference assistance to the public.

Must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills, and be able to work with a positive attitude and have the ability to collaborate within a team.  Job duties include working a Help Desk, the Greeter Desk, in the Call Center  assisting and answering patron inquiries.  Must be familiar and comfortable with technology.

Hours:

Averages 18-24 per week.  Will include some nights and weekends.

Requirements:

College degree or LTA from an accredited college or university preferred.  A minimum of 2 years of library work experience or service related work experience.  Exceptional customer service skills and a strong desire to work with the public in a very active library.  Meet the physical requirements of the position.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Bilingual a plus.

Rate:  Starts at $14.20 per hour
