Get a Wauconda Area Library Card
Signing up for a library card is easy. With your library card, access thousands of books, movies, music, magazines and more!
- Reside in the Wauconda area district.
To verify if you are in the Wauconda Area Library district:
- Must be done in-person at the Information Desk in the library
- A photo ID and proof of your current address, if your photo ID address is not current.
Examples of acceptable proof of residency include a driver's license, state ID, passport, utility bill, lease agreement, current bank statement or personal check, or voter's registration card. Current school ID's are accepted as proof of residency without a driver's license.
If You Live Out-of-District
If you reside outside the Wauconda area district, you will need to get a library card from your home library. Once you have that, bring it to the Information Desk with a photo ID. Your card will be registered in our system so that you can check out materials and use the library computers. Some borrowing restrictions apply.
Non-Resident Library Cards
Families residing beyond the library district boundaries of the WAPLD, not within the boundaries of another public library, and owning no property within the boundaries of the WAPLD, may purchase a non-resident fee card.
For more information about non-resident library cards and fees, please see our Circulation Policy or contact the Information Desk at 847-526-6225.
Your library card is good at most libraries in Illinois. Typically your home library card and a photo ID are what is needed to register your library card at other libraries. Policies and borrowing restrictions may differ from library to library.
