To access these books, it is recommended and in some cases required that you have: 

• A valid Wauconda Area Library card
• Broadband access to the Internet
• Free software for the device on which you wish to use your digital book

Getting started is easy.  Click on one of the services below. When you’re ready, check out your materials by entering your library card and download the digital books to your computer.  Once downloaded, you can transfer them to your portable device, or burn the audio books directly to CD.  When the lending period is up your digital books are automatically returned — so there are never any late fees!  Many of the materials can be read or listened to immediately right from your computer.

The TumbleBook Library is a collection of TumbleBooks (animated, talking picturebooks) and TumblePuzzles. TumbleBooks are created from existing picture books licensed from children's book publishers and converted to the TumbleBook format.

TumbleBooks features include:

• TumblePad Word Helper allows you to click on a book to hear a sentence repeated, or click on a vocabulary word in order to hear it sounded out.
• Each title has recommended reading levels for both automatic and manual modes. Click on the reading level to see other books at the same level.
• The TumblePuzzles and memory TumbleGames are great educational games to play after reading a book.
• The Language Learning section has a growing collection of books in Spanish and French. 
• Discover important books about volunteering, tolerance and other life lessons.

• Explore TumbleReadables, a collection of Large Print chapter books and classic children's books created in the TumbleReadable format. TumbleReadables are online electronic books which include our innovative text size slider which enables the reader to increase the text size to up to 34PT. Perfect for reluctant, emergent, ESL and middle schoolers who just love to read! 

Requirement: Flash Plug-In

TumbleBooks and TumbleQuizzes are created in Flash animation and require the Flash plug-in to view and hear the animation. The great majority of computers and operating systems are already preloaded with Flash.
