Special Preview Tonight
for Members of the Friends
at the Wauconda Area
Library
Book shoppers need look no
further than the Annual Fall Book Sale at the Wauconda Area Library,
which will be held Friday, October 8 through Sunday, October 10. The
book sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Wauconda Area
Library. Thousands of
books, music CD’s, videotapes and more will be available at this
year’s sale.
Friends of the
Library are invited to the "Friends Preview Night" on Thursday,
October 7 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Annual memberships and renewals
will be made available at the
library ’s information desk in advance and also
during the Preview Night as well as throughout the sale.
The
Friends of the Library will greatly appreciate donations of books,
videos, and CD’s for the sale until noon
Thursday, October 7. The success of the sale
depends on the generosity of book donors. All donated materials may be
dropped of at the
library.
In recent months, the
Friends have generously supported the Movie Theatre @ Your Library
series, the Summer Entertainment Series, and the Wild West Day for
young readers. With the fall season upon us, the Friends are now
hard at work preparing for the Annual Fall Book Sale, raising funds
to support programs and activities for library patrons of all ages. Some great
Friends-sponsored events are already planned, including crafting
classes for parents and children and a "Mystery @ Your Library"
event being held in October. The Friends of the Library enrich the
community by raising funds to support library services.
The Friends
also act as library advocates and work to ensure that the
community understands the importance of the
library . Becoming a Friend of the Library has
its advantages! Members of the Friends are entitled to a 50%
discount on all Friends-sale books. In addition, Friends will
receive an invitation to a special "Friends Only" preview sale prior
to the fall book sale. The Friends meet on the second Wednesday of
the month at 7:30 p.m. in the Genevieve Lincoln Meeting Room.

from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
, Saturday, October 9 from
9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
and on Sunday, October 10 from
noon until 4:00
