The Wauconda Area Library recently completed work on a video tour of the library and we invite you take the grand tour! This tour has been divided into five main topics so that you can quickly view the video segments that interest you the most. We suggest you watch all the segments, though, to get a feel for how much this library has to offer. Watching the video is simple -- all you have to do is make sure your computer's sound is turned up, and then click on any of these links. The video you select will start to play for you automatically.

This video tour of the library was made possible through a special grant. The Wauconda Area Library is one of 34 libraries nationwide awarded a grant titled "The American Dream Starts @ Your Library" to promote library services and increase literacy to adult English-language learners. Each $5,000 grant was generously funded by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and administered by the American Library Association. Library staff worked with the Library Production Studio to produce professional-quality English and Spanish video tours.

Library BrochuresThe grant also paid for the development and printing of an attractive Spanish-language brochure describing important library services. The brochure highlights the literacy collection and new materials purchased to help patrons learn English and prepare for citizenship. A new English-language brochure providing an informational overview of library services is also available. These brochures are available at each of the library's service desks.

Wauconda Area Library Kid's HomepageThe Kid's and Teen web pages have also been updated with fun, interactive Flash designs. On the Kid's homepage, participate in online polls, submit reviews of your favorite books, and find out what's happening at the library. The Zone is the place for teens to get homework help, to find something good to read, and to find resources to answer life's questions.
