The power of partnerships!

The library welcomes the opportunity to partner with the business community to sponsor annual programs and much more. For more information, please contact the library at 847-526-6225, extension 207.

Annual Library Card Sign-Up Partnership

Each year the library partners with local businesses to increase library card registrations and heighten community awareness about the library. This promotion also offers the unique opportunity for merchants and organizations to advertise their goods and services.

All publicity for this campaign is done by the library at no charge.

How It Works

During the month of September, when a library patron visits a participating Wauconda Area Library district business or organization, the patron will present a Wauconda Area library card when the purchase is made. At that time, the patron will be offered a special premium or discount. See some examples.

All promotional items are created by library staff. Window signs are prepared and delivered to all participants before September 1. Flyers are then distributed to library patrons during September listing the specific promotions of the participating businesses.

The Annual Library Card Sign-Up is a national campaign sponsored by the American Library Association.

The Wauconda Area Library was featured in the California State Library Publication in Fall 2001, "The Promise, Power and Performance of Partnering," one of only approximately 20 U.S. libraries.
