Teens, share your opinions about what you?d like to see and do at Wauconda Area Library while earning community service hours. Help tackle projects, meet new people, and have fun! TAB participation looks great on job and college applications and will allow you to make a difference at your library. To get involved, stop by the Adult Services Reference Desk to pick up an application. You don?t need a completed application to attend meetings, but your parent or guardian must sign your application before you can participate in volunteer projects.

Teen Summer Reading Club: Book Blast 2013: Battle of the Grades
(Monday, June 03, 2013 - All Day)

We want to put our community on the map with the most readers, the most books read, and the most teens EVER to sign up for summer reading at the library. The challenge is on! Does your grade have what it takes to win? The library will award a PIZZA PARTY to the ENTIRE GRADE ? grades 6 through 12 ? that reads the most books this summer. Special recognition will also be given to the teen from each school who reads the most books. As an extra awesome incentive, we?ll be raffling off BIG prizes every week. The more you read, the better your chances to win. And YES ? eBooks and audiobooks count! Weekly prizes include passes to area water parks, mini golf, movies, the Lake County Fair, and so much more. Everyone will receive a prize JUST for signing up. Make your school AND your grade a standout in the community ? READ! Will it be the 7th graders? Freshman class? Or maybe the Seniors will take top honors! The winning grade will be announced on the first day of school. Register at the Adult Services Reference Desk starting Tuesday, May 28.

Ready, Set?GO Club!
(Saturday, June 22, 2013 - 10:00 AM)

Go is an ancient game of strategy, which originated in 548 B.C. and has been played by (almost) the same rules ever since. The simple goal of surrounding more territory than your opponent gets exciting as you take turns placing black and white stones on the board. GO Club is open to all ages and is a great way for parents to keep young minds engaged and learning while on summer break. All supplies and instruction provided.
