With their poisonous plants, sharp tools, shady corners, and ready-made burial sites, gardens have long inspired writers to connect horticulture with crime.

Enjoy the convergence of two great obsessions with garden writer and bestselling author Marta McDowell as she discusses her new book Gardening Can Be Murder: How Poisonous Poppies, Sinister Shovels, and Grim Gardens Have Inspired Mystery Writers.

Join us on Zoom for a fun mash-up of mystery and gardening! You might discover a few books to add to your TBR (to be read) pile, too.

This program is brought to us in partnership with the Algonquin Area Public Library. Please follow the link above to complete registration.
